Session Presenter

Christine Charvet

PhD

Dr. Christine Charvet earned her PhD in Neuroscience from the University of California, Irvine, and she completed postdoctoral training in neuroimaging at Harvard Medical School and statistical genetics at Cornell University. Before joining Auburn University, she was an Assistant Professor at Delaware State University, contributing to NIH-funded efforts to advance biomedical sciences. Dr. Charvet’s research emphasizes the use of cats as valuable model systems for studying human health, particularly age-related brain changes and neurological conditions. Christine and her collaborators developed the Translating Time resource (https://translatingtime.org), which aligns developmental ages across humans and model organisms, enabling researchers to translate findings to humans. Her current work focuses on integrating transcriptional, epigenetic, and neuroimaging data to expand this resource, and to improve age translations across diverse species.
