Dr. Joyce Carnevale is a Clinical Professor at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She serves as the Community Outreach Coordinator working with welfare organizations across Central Iowa to provide shelter pets with spay/neuter and preventative care through the Surgery, Anesthesia, and Community Outreach program. Dr. Carnevale received her DVM from Cornell University. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. She was in private practice for many years before coming to ISU with a passion for teaching and helping prepare students for rewarding careers. Her research interests include feline behavior, shelter medicine, and access to care.
