Dr. Maho Okumura is a Clinical Microbiology Resident at the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine. She obtained her veterinary degree from University of Pennsylvania and her MPH degree from Drexel University. Prior to veterinary school, she has experience working on projects sponsored by international organizations themed around public health, health communication, and social and behavioral change. Passionate about One Health, Dr. Okumura is involved in teaching infectious disease and public health courses to veterinary students of all years and her current research includes a surveillance study of carbapenem resistant Enterobacterales in a veterinary teaching hospital setting.
